Whipped Cream Chocolate Pudding Cake

This recipe is very special to me as it was given to me by my Mom. She always had such awesome recipes and this by far is one of the best and the easiest. Here is what you will need:

1 box cook and serve chocolate pudding
1 box devils food cake
1 container heavy whipping cream

The first step is to make the pudding. Just follow the directions on the packaging and pour into a bowl when done.

I always put a piece of plastic wrap on the pudding so you don't get the hard film on top. Place in the fridge for at least an hour to make sure it's cold before you assemble the cake.

Next step is to make the cake, prepare it as the box directs. I usually use 2 8 inch round cake pans but really you can use any size and shape.

Next is to make the whipped cream. Make sure before you do this that you bowl and whisk (or beaters if you use a hand mixer) are chilled. I will usually keep them in the freezer overnight.

This is what your finished product should look like. Once finished go ahead and cover and place in the refrigerator.

Once your cakes are finished make sure they are completely 100% cool, I will usually place them in the freezer for about 10 minutes to speed up the process. Once they are cool cut each cake in half.

Place the bottom layer on a cake plate and spread a layer of pudding. Continue this process until the cake in completely assembled.

This is what it should look like.

Once the layering is complete, go ahead and take out that yummy whipped cream and frost the whole thing.

Looks good right?!

This is a cake that needs to be refrigerated at all times. It is very light and not too sweet.

Enjoy!!!
