Sweet and Tangy Barbeque Ribs & Fried Potatoes

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Army Wife in the Kitchen. I am excited to share my recipes with you all and hopefully get some feedback.

I was trying to figure out what I wanted my first recipe to be and I figured why not just go with what I was making for dinner.

Sweet and Tangy Barbeque Ribs

Here is what you will need for the rub:

1/4 c. Salt
1/4 c. Sugar
Paprika to taste
3 cups of any barbeque sauce of your choice

First you will mix the salt, sugar and paprika together:

After this get your ribs ready, I usually cut then in half so I can fit them in a smaller baking dish. Use all the mixture and rub it all over the ribs:

Once they are ready place them in a 250 degree oven for 1 hour. Once that hour is up take them out:

I let them rest for about 5 minutes (you can always use this time to drain any liquid in the bottom of the pan, but I usually just leave it) and put them back in the oven at 250 degrees for another hour.

Once the hour is up take them out and coat them with barbeque sauce:

Turn the temperature up to 400 degrees and put them back in the oven for 30 minutes.

Here is what they will look like when they are finished:

Yummy!! Let them rest about 10 minutes before slicing.

A typical side dish I always make with ribs is Fried Potatoes

You will need approximately 4-5 potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced. Chop up 1/2 onion and combine them together in a bowl:

Pour them into a skillet (I always use my cast iron) with a little vegetable oil and add salt and pepper generously. I usually fry them for about 20-25 on medium to high heat until they get a little crisp to them.

Here is the finished product (I added baked beans to round out the meal)

Enjoy!!!!!
