This recipe is absolutely amazing!!! You can easily assemble the night before and bake in the morning.
For the dough you will need:
1 package active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
2/3 cup milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon salt
4 egg yolks
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
pour the yeast into a large bowl
Add the water and mix until yeast is dissolved
add the milk
Add butter
add sugar
salt
Add the egg yolks
I transfered the mixture to my mixture to add the flour. once it is all combined knead the dough on a flour surface for 10-15 minutes
once the dough is kneaded place in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise for 2-3 hours or until doubled in size
Once the dough has risen you can move on to the other steps.
For the Topping you will need:
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup honey
1 cup chopped pecans (or any nut of your choice)
Mix together the brown sugar, butter, and honey on medium heat
cook until all mixed together and smooth
pour mixture into a greased baking dish
cover with pecans
For the filling you will need:
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1/4 cup butter softened
Once the dough is done rising, roll out to approximately 1/4 inch thick. Try your best to roll out in a rectangle shape (I can never get it perfect). Spread the butter all over the dough
Next sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture (sorry no pictures, was in a rush) and roll the dough. Cut into 15 pieces and place into baking dish. (if you don't plan on baking right away just cover and place in refrigerator).
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Once they come out of the oven invert onto a plate and serve warm. Enjoy!!!
